Born and raised in Southern California, I've been drawing since I was 4 years old. I
graduated from Long Beach Polytechnic High School and while I was a junior I
attended a Saturday morning art program at Pasadena Art Center College. I attended
FIDM in Los Angeles right after high school and graduated in 1987.
I've been a graphic designer, illustrator, young-men’s/surf wear designer, production
manager, shoe designer, and published artist with Editions Ltd.
I made up my mind to serve my country after September 11, but was not able to enlist
until April 2006 due to career, and family commitments. In September 2006 I left my
Design Director position at TAOS Footwear to enter Basic Training. I currently serve
my country as a multi media illustrator with my reserve unit in Orange County, CA.
I was born and raised in Long Beach, California and I attended Milliken High School. I
am a graduate of California State University Long Beach and majored in Marketing
with a minor in psychology. My father was a US Marine during Vietnam so naturally
much of my family was involved in the Military. When I watched my younger brother
leave and join the US Air Force I realized that I wanted to do something significant
with my life. My entire world was surrounded by heroes and incredible role models,
so after some thinking I decided that my ultimate goal was to find a career that would
give me the resources to provide for those who have served once they got older.
A Long Beach California native myself, I also graduated from Milliken High School. I
attended Basic Training at Ft. Benning, Georgia in 2000, completed AIT at Ft.
Leonardwood, Missouri, Airborne school in Ft. Benning, and was finally stationed in
Ft. Bragg North Carolina (home of the 82nd) in the 307th Engineers. I served in
Operation Iraqi Freedom, from Sept 02 to May 03 and was set to discharge from
active duty in Oct of 02. However, I extended my contract a year to stay with my
unit. I would definitely do it all over again and have no regrets about my service and
my experiences with my brothers from the 307th. Hit em hard!
